Glitter Words

Here’s a question for the ages I was asked from a reader:

What Are “Glitter Words” and “Myspace Words”?

MySpace Words and “Glitter Words” are used as personal signatures and logos on social networking sites like Myspace. Anyone who has spent time at a social network website or on an internet forum has seen some example of the “MySpace Glitter Words” and are almost certain to have taken note of them, given that these words and phrases are generally bright and flamboyant.

Glitter Word logos are often written in a cursive script and include neon or sparkly highlights in colors ranging from bright red to pink to neon green to yellow. Many “My Space Words” include catching phrases with a little bit of attitude.

Selecting Myspace Words and Text

Just like there are ringtone sites out there, you can find “glitter words & text” sites that help you personalize your web pages. All you have to do is type in either “Myspace Words” or “Glitter Words”, depending on your preferences, and dozens of sites that sell glitter words will appear. You’ll be able to tell you’ve found a participating website when you see links with phrases like “Pimp Your Page”, “Create Your Own Layouts”, “Free Glitter and 3D Text!’ and “Fun Myspace Backgrounds!”.

Once you find a site that has glitter text or myspace layouts for the right price (some of these sites offer free glitter words), all you have to do is create an identity, log-in, pay (if required) and then either copy-and-paste or cut-and-paste the glittery words html code from the words and text site to your personal homepage.

Where Can You Use Personal Glitter Text and Words At?

You can use glitter text to personalize your Myspace page or some other social networking homepage. You can set your Myspace words as your profile icons on profile pages, such as online dating sites or other forums or message boards. You can use glitter words to personalize your own blogs with flashy text and word phrases, creating a logo or a background. Or, if you create your own static web pages, you can cut-and-paste the Myspace words & text onto your personal web pages, pimping your web site with icons, images, backgrounds, graphics and glitters.

So glitter words can be used just about anywhere you add personal content to the internet (except a few Wikis, where it would be frowned on, I suppose).

Examples of Glitter Words

Some representative examples of glitter words for Myspace include the neon pink “Showin Some Love” glitters, which seem to be ominipresent right now. Other Myspace words include simple phrases to welcome visitors to your site, like “Welcome!”, “Hi!” and my personal favorite, “Smooches For You”.

Famous Glitters

If you prefer to have branded glitter words for your homepages, you can find trademarked glitters for everything from Playboy logos to Disney layouts. You can personlize your homepage to your heart’s delight, letting your visitors know exactly what you like or what your personality is like.

One of my favorite current Myspace Words logos include a hot blonde in black stockings and checkered bikini showing you her rear end, with the words “I’m Hot” off to the side. This Myspace Words box is called “Hottie Words”.

Another favorite glitter of the moment is a closeup of a young woman’s face fro the nose down. She has bright red lipstick on, so her mouth is by far the most prominent feature. She appears to be licking her upper lip with an almost equally red tongue, and the word “Hot” is seen in bright red superimposed on her left cheek. Meanwhile, this hottie appears to be standing in the rain, getting wet.

Glitter Word Generators

Even better are the sites that offer the “glitter word generator” feature. All you have to do is type in the text you want displayed in your glitter, select the text color, the background color, the font and the size of the glitter box, and the glitter word generator produces a tailor made phrase for you. You can have a glitter word phrase that is entirely unique and your own.

These sites tend to have ready-made glitters, of course. Given that it’s the middle of June right now, you’ll find Father’s Day text, 4th of July text boxes, Fireworks text and so on. You’ll need to register for these glitter word generator websites with a valid email address, but you pretty much don’t have to offer other information to the site. Use an alternative email address if you’re afraid of spam.
