About Us
Wordskit is a collection of quotations, words, and interesting aspects of language. While there is a solid base of fact, and a firm respect for history, the primary purpose of the site is to entertain. Please do not take us too seriously.
WordSkit is always grateful for your contributions. If you'd like to make a contribution, please email the editor of the site, Randy Ray, at randyray at gmail dot com. (You'll have to change the formatting when you put it in the address field of your email client.)You can find a lot of "about us" type information on the homepage of the site, but in brief, here's the history of the site. Andrew Heenan launched this site in 2003 and Randy Ray took over the site in 2009. Since 2009, the content on the site has been written and edited by Ray and some colleagues, including Will Roby, John Clifton, and Shane Rivers.
Our goal is to provide folks with an interesting way to learn about interesting and weird words.
Want some examples of the cool stuff we've been blogging about? Here's a list of our most popular blog posts over the last 12 months:
- Online Word Unscramblers - What they are, how they work, and why you should care.
- Sentence Unscramblers and Phrase Unscramblers - Similar to that earlier blog post, but about sentence and phrase unscramblers, and how they differ from word unscramblers.
- Words of Sympathy - What to say during times of grief. We thought this post would be especially helpful, because we've heard a lot of people
